Just a note, the first time I setup my seti account in 2002 was with another email address. When I changed jobs/work premises, I updated my email address. When going to BOINC yesterday, it automagically setup my new account, rolling over stuff from my old account, including my original email address, not my current one. I could only login with Account Key, not email address etc. You don't half reckon this didn't take a hammer to sort out. Newbie's beware! :-)

I still cannot reconnect with my "team" but have been informed all will be well after the dec15...

If you updated your email address after 14 Mar 2005 then the BOINC database would still have your old email address as that was the last time the databases were syncronized. Your Classic stats will be as of 15 Mar 2005. You are right, "all will be well sometime after dec 15".
