I *used* to run Seti v3.08, but now I get a popup telling me its shutting
down. I have downloaded Bionic (Whatever that is) and "attached to a
project" (whatever that means) using the URL given to me.
So having done that - now what do I do? I'm still running Seti 3.08 and I
still get the popup. Bionic gives me a screen with stuff on it which means
absolutely nothing to me.
Am I still running it?
Was I supposed to delete original Seti?
Is this Bionic supposed to do something?
Is it a case of having found ETI and there is no need for anyone to run
Seti
anymore?
Or is it a case of someone not bothering to explain properly how and why
this is happening?
Maybe after seven years of Seti, it's not worth the effort of allowing
"strange" and unfriendly software on my system anymore?

I understand your problems and have recently been forced over to boinc like
you.
With Classic I had it set up to only run as a screensaver. To save time
showing
graphics - I had the screen set to go blank. When it finished a work unit it
would then request a internet connection.
This has run fine like this for 5 years.
Could somebody please please please tell me how to set up boinc to do this.
The boinc software is very confusing and I have no idea how to do this.
I am a software engineer and certainly no novice when it comes to software.
