Just turned to BOINC. My (main) Linux box runs okay whithout problem. But
a secondary box that I rarely use which runs W2K with only 64 Mb of memory

BOINC telling me it is just short a few bites of memory. Nonsense, seti
has always run on it, at about 1 wu per day.
How do I bypass this stupid error?
Thanks
The Unofficial Boinc Wiki has a table of project memory and disk
requirements, see near bottom of page
http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Choosing_a_BOINC_Powered_Project
S@H is listed as 64 MB and Enhanced S@H (beta) at 31 MB. As mentioned on
previous posts extra memory is probably the best solution. Since your are
familiar with Linux a possible alternative might be to partition off some
disk space and dual boot w2k and a very light weight Linux like Puppy
http://www.goosee.com/puppy/ or an even smaller command only line version.
With smaller OS requirements there would be more resources for Boinc S@H.
Have non-destructively resized w98 and xp but not w2k before. If you have
Partition Magic you could try that. Another way is to defrag windows and
immediately shut it down then use Ranish to repartition (at least / and
swap for Linux) http://www.ranish.com/part/ . If you try, save your data
first and have a way to reinstall windows in case things go wrong.
