YEP that confirms it! You have "use no more than 1 gb disk space".
That may not be enough depending on your cache settings, try lowering
your "connect to network every" to .1 days and see if that fixes it.
Well, I upped the 'Use no more than' to 5Gb like yours, and, yes, it
brought in work units for both projects. I just checked the
directories, and with a stalled unit left over from my old setup,
BOINC's folder still only reaches .98Gb.
I still say this is a problem with BOINC. Who wants to have to
continually mess about with settings when a new version of BOINC comes
around. Like I say, my system was running fine for 15 months until I
installed v5.2.6. Why should I have thought that my settings were
wrong when they'd been working fine until then. This sounds like a
chunk of bad code in BOINC, or it's miss-reading the HDD.
Well, I'm bloody minded enough to put up with this annoyance to stay
with it, but I'm betting BOINC will lose a lot of volunteers of every
project if they have to mess around with settings like this. And how
many do they lose that don't have helpful people like you on a
newsgroup to help sort their problems.
Any way, thanks for giving me a pointer to what was wrong with mine.
Andy
No problem I am glad it is working now. I think that your settings
were unique to your machine. I think that you changed them in the
beginning and that the defaults should be adequate. I have been
Boincing for over a year and have seen most of these problems before
and that is why I can help.
And no I do not know what the defaults were, I have also tweaked mine.
