Windows 2000 works fine in 64 MB, and providing you run only
the services you need, it is actually more memory efficient than
Win98 on the same hardware.

I still have two full copies of 2000, but I never ran it on less than
256 Meg and generally on 500.  I usually run at least 3 or 4 apps at a
time.

Although it uses more memory, I find XP Pro to be more stable and much
easier to use with PnP although 2000 has PnP if you turn it on.
