Well, I have read all the wiki stuff. Read all the posts here. Still,
cannot get this thing to do anything at all. No workunits downloaded. The
manager has nothing but blank screens no matter which tab I select. Help??

You are getting a lot of suggestions, but at present they are having
system problems, or have been. I haven't had a WU result returned in
6 days from any of the machines. My machine in the shop basically
started coming up with the blank screen while the other two continued
on crunching WUs and downloading more as needed. However it came back
to life overnight and has downloaded a bunch of new WUs. The other
two machines now have in the neighborhood of between 100 and 200 WUs
with about half of those attempting to return. I didn't count, but
it's a big screen, the messages are in small print, and there are darn
near two screens full.

My message log shows it failed to connect 4 times this afternoon. The
rest of the times it attempted to upload and failed.

I just upgraded from BOINC 5.2.7 to 5.2.13 and the first return
attempts ended up with a cgi error 106. Since then it is connecting
well, but the uploads are still failing.

I think you are running into multiple problems which makes the
confusion factor high. One time you may make a mistake and the next
you may do everything correct, but then Berkeley has a problem.

"Were it me" and it's not, I'd wait until you see the problem(s) are
solved and they are back up and running reliably before trying to get
going. Trying to solve your problems while they are also having
problems in not much more than an exercise in futility. It's a good
system, but like many university systems they are hampered by the
usually problems of the environment. Give them time and have faith.

As George suggested, you could try to connect to one of the other
projects, but if the BOINC hardware is acting up you may or may not
get through.

If yours is a new account or you are just setting one up, the system
may not treat it the same as established accounts.

Have patience and good luck,
