As there seems to be a heck of a lot of teething problems going on with
BOINC at the moment, would it be possible to leave Seti Classic operational
and not cut it off by December 15?

I believe there still are a few hundered thousand working off Seti Classic.
This may take some of the weight off the BOINC project, just until the
teething problems have been ironed out.

About 220,000, looking at the graph. No telling how many results were being
returned by them, though. I was doing about 50/day.

Just a thought.

I doubt that they'll consider it. They're 20 months behind the original
announced shutdown date (March 2004) and have finally stated a firm date;
changing their mind now, with the merge going on and the announcements
going out would just stir up more of a fuss.

Really don't understand the timing of the database merge, though; this just
doesn't seem to be a good time.

Can neither send in results nor download work units via Classic at the
moment. Looks like I'll be shutting down earlier than promised...

Same here. I have 49 results queued at the moment, with 31 WU in process.
Uploading results has been difficult for the past week.

And, I've shut down 11 systems this evening. Time for the network rebuild,
then I'll see what's working out there when I get that finished.
