The answer is shutdown is "sometime imminently". Berkeley have usually been late on dates so you may have a chance yet...

Also, if results are submittable beyond Dec 15th, will they have any

Only for incrementing your WU count. The hint has been that no further science results are being taken since the start of the s@h-classic science database merge with Boinc-s@h...

Looks like as of high noon Berkeley time, s@h-classic was shut down:

"On December 15, 2005, after 6 years of operation, Classic SETI@home sent out its last workunit. The current SETI@home project is up and running. Please join us!"
