Is your system suffering too little RAM for all the other applications that you've got active?

Sounds like your system is using the swap file (virtual memory)...

If you have enough RAM, you should only notice Boinc accessing the disk at most once per minute unless you've changed your Boinc preferences.


BTW: I never use the 'screen savers'... Takes up too much CPU time for something that you get bored with very quickly. Try some of the 3rd party addons for stats and analysis mania!
