No, your credits from the classic are not gone. They will be viewable on the seti classic stats site.
Your classic stats (state from 15th march 2005) are also shown on your account site from the new one.
After Berkeley has done the merge of the seti classic and the seti boinc database, your credits from classic will be updated on your account page from the new seti.

Which problems do you have to get boinc runnning ?
