It's not so much lack of information -- I understand that the people
involved with the project have to prioritize their time -- as the
*disinformation* that has annoyed me. For example the original
website claims that WUs would be accepted for a week after the 15
December cessation of new ones being issued, but AFAICT that's simply
false; in fact (from the Mac clients at least) no results were
accepted for at least a week *before* the deadline.

I also find it insulting that the Mac OS 9 clients put up a message
saying we should switch to BOINC when there's no version of the
software for that platform. How much more time could it have taken to
write "That's it for you, thanks for your contribution" instead? How
many users (most of whom, doubtless, haven't been keeping up with
developments by reading this NG and the Web fora) will have been
prompted to waste time on a wild-goose chase for a nonexistent upgrade?

It doesn't require a PR department to show some minimal consideration
for the efforts and dedication that have been *donated* to the
project. You may dismiss me as a "whinger" but that doesn't change
the fact that the way the transition has been handled has left a sour
taste that will, for many, drown out the sense of satisfaction
derived from contributing to the science.
