website claims that WUs would be accepted for a week after the 15
December cessation of new ones being issued, but AFAICT that's simply
false; in fact (from the Mac clients at least) no results were
accepted for at least a week *before* the deadline.
I don't know specifically for Macs but AFAIK the s@h-classic server is
still accepting WU returns.
There's even details on the forums of how to circumvent the "obsolete
client" message so that you can continue to crunch onwards to whatever
magic goal.
(The results are discarded, you only increment your WU count for the stats.)
I also find it insulting that the Mac OS 9 clients put up a message
saying we should switch to BOINC when there's no version of the
software for that platform. How much more time could it have taken to
write "That's it for you, thanks for your contribution" instead? How

For very hard development reasons, indeed there is no Mac OS9 client.
The source code is available to develop one if there is enough interest
to do so. Sorry, but that hasn't happened.
And please see:
SETI@home Classic: In Memoriam
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/classic.php
"Thanks to everyone listed above - and, of course, to the millions of
dedicated, enthusiastic and patient SETI@home participants - for making
SETI@home Classic what it was. It didn't find ET, but it was the largest
computation in history, it revolutionized scientific computing, it
brought science into the homes of millions of people around the world,
and it increased global awareness of the methods and goals of SETI."
"And, although SETI@home Classic has ended, we are continuing with
SETI@home/BOINC, and hopefully we will soon begin a powerful new
multibeam sky survey at Arecibo and - who knows? - maybe find that
elusive signal we've all been looking for."
The new capabilities and advances with Boinc-s@h should far outweigh any
disappointment and loss for retiring the s@h-classic version. The search
continues!
Happy crunchin',
