Can anyone explain how Credits in BOINC relate to Classic units in Classic

I have tried to read about it but could not find anything definitive.
See:

for all you ever wanted to know about s@h credits.
You could multiply your classic WUs by an "average cobblestones per WU"
but the result is arbitrary and meaningless unless you know how many
VHARs, VLARs and noisy classic WUs you've had so that you can then
adjust the score accordingly. Otherwise, you're just conjuring up "a
number".
