Pardon me for asking a few things about Seti and Boinc that might seen
rather basic. I just processed my 1000th WU on Setiathome 3.08 and
thought I would test drive Boinc to see what would be required to update
my system to handle it.
I did that too a few weeks ago. Glad I did. Things are running good!
Computer wise I am living in the stone age.
You are running BOIC on an Atari 800 ? Wow ! (^;
It may not be the most glamorous setup but it processes 4 WU a
day with expendable machinery.
Who needs glamor ! Bah !
I tried looking for a Boinc help file but I can't bring it up.
I like searching for things via the message boards.

And
is Boinc still amenable to transfer by floppy disk? Or am I going to
have to invest in a wireless network.
If you go wireless, be sure to make it encrypted and secure. A study
in Seattle found 9 of 10 wireless internet users were no safe. In
fact in one aprt complex, it was found that each high speed internet
wireless user had about 3 freeloaders using their internet connection.
I'd just like to know what I'm getting myself into ... that's all.
Always good to look before you leap. That is what I do when I cliff
dive in Idaho.
