Curious if SETI ever "tests itself", like with perhaps (scheduled but
random) "blind tests".

I.e., someone "injects" a signal similiar to what is believed could be
found
by ET into the data collection. (Either at RF or data level, best would
be
at RF level.)

The idea being to see if SETI will catch the fake ET signal, and if so how
long will it take.

Cheers,
Eric

Just did a deja search and read a little about the 1.41900000 GHz and
1.42100000 GHz test signals.

These were used with SETI classic, don't know if they are used with Boinc.
These are also just continuous wave signals. (?)

The kind of "test signals" I was wondering about is if someone at SETI (only
one person knowing about it would be best) ever puts together a more complex
signal (signal right above the noise floor, some funky modulation, etc) and
"injects" it in?

The answer to your question would not be known to "only one person" if
they posted the answer to your question!
