Look like a problem with the nameresoulution. You can test it with a 
"nslookup setiathome.berkeley.edu"

I agree, the DNS lookup is not working on your end.

I picked up another work unit just an hour ago, and the message log
shows that I haven't had any recent problems except yesterday when they
took the server offline for backup.

Whenever I stop getting work units, I click on "Reset Project". This
deletes all the work and downloads new files. I'm supposing that the
files get corrupted from time to time, and that's why the button is there.

Don't forget that Wednesday is maintenance day, but I'm not sure if it's
all day or just partial.
