Now and then, Boinc Manager hangs up and can't connect to Local Host.
I am assuming this has to do with Zone Alarm. It is random and I can
see where the problem is. Any help or point to start looking would be
helpful.

I find that "Hang" means differents things to different people. To me
it means the program or system freezes.

The "start up" problem has already been mentioned by another poster.

Does BOINC start up OK? Does it come up with "Disconnected from local
host" at the bottom of the screen *after* it has been running or when
it fails to start?

As I mentioned in another post, it will not start, or connect to local
host if it can't connect to Berkeley when it is booted up.

When you get this message, try going into the BOINC manager, select
[File] and then <Exit> Once BOINC has shut down, go into the <Start>
Menu and restart BOINC. If it starts OK, you most likely either have
the start sequence problem or it's not been able to connect to
Berkeley. If it won't start and you find it can not connect to
Berkeley then that most likely is your problem.

I have one computer which suffers from the start problem while the
others must start BOINC near the end of the line with the other apps
running.
