The related New Scientist article is a good example of how even
"formally released" information can be blithely sensationalised into farce.

I've learned not to trust anything coming from New Scientist
because they have just made up too much "science news". Add
to that the fact that in their early days they engaged in
"circular quoting" to make stories seem legitimate and you
have to wonder why any legit scientist (including NASA) would
waste their time with them (unless they intended to deceive
the public).
