My apologies if this is OT.
This pc has been running boinc manager and s @ h for quite some while.
Recently a hdd died and I have just replaced it. Set up boinc / seti
again
and it is running but only showing 1 processor and only running 1
instance
of seti.
Hyperthreading is definitely enabled in bios and my general preferences
in
boinc are set to 2 processors.
Any ideas please?
I have a couple of other pc's with ht and they are running 2 instances
of
seti.
This install has been running for abour 3 hours.
Is it likely to sort itself or do I have another hardware problem?
Thanks
Nick
Actually if you do a manual update it should do it right now.
You MAY have to up your processes to 4, I have seen reports where just
2 does not work for some people.
Interesting. I have upped the processors to 4 in preferences, manually
updated, closed & restarted the
program, run benchmarks and the machine has reported home several times.
It is still showing 1 processor.
Does your task manager and/or device manager show two processors?
I hadn't thought to check those items.
Device manager shows 2 instances of the processor.
Task manager / performance tab shows only 1 instance.
Now I am really confused.
did you install xp with ht enabled? or only with 1 cpu?
