I had it running (the first time it went fine) and then i closed the
manager. Next time i started it up (about 5 minutes later) it prompted for
computer name and password. I've put in my computer name, localhost with
vaious combinations of password or account key and it always refuses it. How do i get this reattached to the seti client (whcih i can run ok via the
run_client thing) and also, how do i get a usable startup icon in my
"quicklaunch" place on the taskbar. And lastly, doesnt the manager minimize
to the tray like in windows?
The boinc client chooses a randomly password, if nothing is setup.
You have got to stop the boinc client, and put a password (or leave it empty for now password) in the file gui_rpc_auth.cfg and start the boinc client again.
Now you should be able to reconnect with the boinc manager.
