yes of course.
but boinc manager tells there are no separate prefs for work and is
using default.
this is not the only machine that is taking the wrong preference. but
the other machines doesn't matter. i have set the same preferences on
default like they should get at work (after i saw this problem).

but caching is 4 days and i don't want to set them at 10days like my
machine.

Then go into you account on the web page and scroll down and set some
preferences for the different venues. If you do not manually set them
they are not seen and the default is used, which is what is happenning
to you. You MUST manually make some changes in the different sections
and then save it. It is done under the general preferences section.

i have set several different preferences, but sometimes some machine
doesn't use them. my machine was for 2 days without special
preferences and yesterday it went back to my 10 days (1 day) cache.

and some other do the same sometimes, but this is not a real problem.

Had this problem because i had different settings for different projects - 
until i finally set all project preferences the same.  Still no guarentee - 
sometimes when projects update server side they would lose my settings for 
awhile and default would reappear until they fixed thier end.
