Hi. I finished another two packets. On my next download, not only did
a get another packet, but also got the following files:

setiathome_5.12_windows_intelx86.exe
libfftw3f-3-1-1a.dll
seti512.jpg
setiathome_5.12_AUTHORS
setiathome_5.12_AUTHORS
setiathome_5.12_COPYING
setiathome_5.12_COPYRIGHT
setiathome_5.12_README

Just what are these files? Where are they on my hard drive?

Filling in a few details that others haven't covered:

The .exe file above is the SETI@home Enhanced application itself; I
believe the accompanying .dll contains mathematical functions used in
its FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) calculations. The .jpg is an image
of the SETI@home logo, for display in a corner of the screen-saver or
graphic window. The remaining files (I don't know why you got two
AUTHORS) are just text, comprising the documentation required for
compliance with the program's public Open Source registration.

The files should have been downloaded to your BOINC folder, which
usually lives in C:Program Files. You can find them in the "projects"
directory there, the same place as the 4.18 version. (I don't
remember the exact name of the SETI subdirectory, but it looks like
part of the project's URL, something like "setiathome.berkeley.edu".)
