Slow BOINC processing times solved............at least for me
anyway....seems that somewhere along the way to now...my PC decided
the rear case fan wasnt doing alot so when the system warmed up (ala
running BOINC) - it would shut the fan off....rasing the internal temp
even more - slowing BOINC to a crawl.......

Any one looking for a *possible* solution can try this :

http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

This is an internal temp monitor app (if your mb supports it) that
will give you a baseline for the temps inside your PC.

For Example - mine was running at 68C without BOINC running....when
BOINC started up it went up (over 5 min) to 74-76C..........and then
the fan started slowing down............

Now with a new fan and a new motherboard the standard temp is 52C and
the temp rises to 58C when BOINC is going full bore......

This might NOT be what is causing others to get high non-BOINC cpu
useage (by non-BOINC apps) when BOINC is crunching.............it is
at least worth a look if you are having a similar problem........

Keep 'em crunching
