I used to post here a few years back and have recently
re-subscribed. However, I see no posts in the last few days...

With the advent of the BOINC architecture, virtually all activity
has apparently migrated to forums. This group sees probably less
than 10 posts per month these days.

I still monitor the group, but rarely have anything to post about
any more. Since I have no interest in getting involved with BOINC,
I abandoned SETI@Home when SETI Classic was shut down.

That's pretty much my situation. Without a full time connection and the
equivalent of SetiQueue, I can't do much with BOINC.

Ahh, Ok. I think I remember you from 'back in the day'. I resisted BOINC for
as long as I could, grimly hanging on to classic (and the 3.03 exe) until
the last moment.

Mee too; I think I ended up around the 830 ranking in individual users. No
way to check, now.

However, I just thought I'd give it a whirl as I have a new PC and I founded
a team that still has 40 members (although only a handful are still active).
These Core2 Duos are amazing after upgrading from an Athlon XP.

I wish I could use the hardware at work--among other things, we have 35
servers, all dual-CPU at a minimum. The most recently upgraded ones have
Core2 Duos in them.

(Wondering why I didn't see Gary's post first. Perhaps it's a propogation
thing although it's been a while now...)

Nobody has ever been able to fully understand newsgroup propagation. :-)
