I'm running seti on a laptop and desktop and was wondering why the laptop

We need more details: are you running any other projects? What are the
time stats and DCFs for the two hosts? Both on the same website
preferences, or using a local override?
No other projects. time stats and DCF? Yes both on the same preferences I
think.
You can get the time stats from each host's Computer Summary page, near
the bottom: the figures shown for "% of time BOINC client is running",
"While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed", "Average CPU
efficiency", and "Result duration correction factor" (DCF). You can also
find them in your local client_state.xml files, but the website is
probably more convenient.
