My RAC has more or less doubled on the Q6600 machine after I installed the AK8 SSSE3.1 binaries. ;) I'm not yet clear on how I have to merg the app_info.xml files to get boinc to use the 'regular' astropulse client for ap units, and the optimized stuff for the regular units.

All you have to do is open the 'sample' app_info.xml file with wordpad or notepad and highlight everything from the top down to and including </app_version>. Then copy it.

Then, on your 'real' app_info.xml, open it in wordpad or notepad and highlight <app_info>. Then paste over it.

When your done it should look like the 'sample' but with your optimized client info under the Astropulse suff. And remember to put the AP files that you downloaded in the setiathome.berkeley.edu folder.

Restart BOINC and you should be good to go.
