I see this is another group with more than its fair share of morons.
Anybody watching this group with a real interest in the search for
extra terrestial intelligence?
A few, I guess ...
IIANM this group was originally spun off sci.astro.seti in about 1999,
to provide a forum for discussing the SETI@home distributed-computing
project, removing that traffic from the sci. group, but ever since S@h
switched to the BOINC platform, which includes Web-based discussion
boards, that _raison d'être_ has been made obsolete. Unfortunately s.a.s
is just about as much of a wasteland, though.
Ah, thanks for the info.
I remember the seti@home project. I opted for the protein folding
project myself. Figured protein folding would bring me immortality
faster than a flying saucer. :)
I used to frequent usenet a while back. There were lots of good ng's
around then but it looks like things have changed quite a bit since.
