Report Summary
|
May or June, 12 miles N of Winsted, 1 mi S. of New Boston, MA, 400 acre weekend and summer home called "Hanging Mountain", near midnight. Witness stepped outside and observed lighted object settling on Tolland Mountain, across from the home (East); shape was "a huge egg-yolk" light "not glowing", "an elongated oval, flat apparently on the on the bottom side which was setting on the ground and which [the witness] estimated to be about 200 feet long and about 15 feet high amidships." Primary witness asked second witness to go look, and second witness "tore back into the room" in fright. 15 mins later, after calming the secondary witness, the primary witness went out to look again, but the object was gone. Possible second report to Harvard Observatory , which may have been from Essex.[footnote 1] |
