7/17/90 - Physical Evidence Sample

Report Summary
"...It is material found in the grass over an area of about 600 square feet in the exact area of... lawn [where there was] a sighting... two days before the material was discovered...
"The automobile sized [object] did not land but hovered a foot or so off the ground 'bobbing' around for about 30 seconds [before it] left incredibly fast... the material seemed deposited on the upper portion of the grass blades..."[footnote 1]
Material was retrieved 9 days after sighting. It had rained once and temperatures were 80-90 degrees. It was then kept for 35 days at room temperature before put in freezer in a freezer bag.
Physical Effect
Material was found to show notable peaks of C, O, Si, Zr, and Ca. Primary peaks were Si and Zr. Investigator reported material resembled graphite, which is clearly at variance with the composition analysed.
Comments / Conclusion
Unfortunately, elapsed time and lack of proper handling procedures may have compromised any value to be found from the specimen. Nonetheless, the composition is unusual, and does not seem similar to fertilizer or any other common lawn material.
