Date: Wed, 30 Jul 1997 14:17:15 -0400 (EDT) From: [withheld by request] There have been other military "things" that have happened in this area in the past. North of this site, in an area near "the wedge over look" is a large tunnel. I have visited this site a few times. It is difficult to find. You could drive past it and never see it. In fact even walking around you have to look for it. This tunnel is massive. I think it is about 30' tall and wide, it goes for a very long distance. It has branches like a tree off to the left and right, these are about 8' and run for an unknown distance. The entire inside was whitewashed. On the desert floor there are holes about 3' in diameter. These were drill above the tunnel running the lenght of it (I believe). These were suposed to be filled with explosives and detonated. There is fuse line still there. The damage to the tunnel is impressive. Entering the tunnel you can see the parts which the blast caved in due to the rubble and missing whitewash. I have not found many people in the area that even know of this tunnel, but there are a few. I was told this was done in the late 40's-early 50's. The blast although confined in the bore holes and covered shook the near by towns. This is a distance of over 20 miles.
