Dear fellow newsgroup members,

Let us take a moment to reflect on the mystique of Area 51. For many years
it has been the subject of countless documentaries, articles, news reports
and books. One incident has elevated this military base to the status of a
legend. (The 1947 Roswell incident.) Speak to any conspiracy theorist or
UFO investigator and Area 51 is always at the top of the list.

Let us face some hard facts: We will probably never know in our lifetimes
what really occurred in Roswell New Mexico in 1947. It is one of those
mysteries that we will always be  part of the American mystique. Area 51 is
a top secret testing ground and as such is governed by the military, and
the modern military, since its birth in the U.S. is ruled by its own laws,
not the laws by which we are bound to abide. As dificult as it may seem, we
must except the fact that there are a great many things that we cannot
know. Yes, we always here the excuse that certain things are a matter of
national security, and I will be the first one to agree that that excuse is
often abused, mainly for the fact that we the poeple of the U.S. would more
than likely strongly disagree with what the military or government has done
or is doing.

The truth is that we have enjoyed security within our borders. The truth
is, the military has kept us safe from outside invaders, the military has
devoted its essence and being to upholding the constitution of the U.S. and
ensuring that we are able to enjoy the freedoms we have now.

The cold truth is that we, the people have elevated Area 51, Roswell New
Mexico, the assination of Kennedy and King to the level of legends in this
country. We have all contributed to the frenzy over conspiracies, black
projects and secret governments. We have given authors, reporters and
dillusional people an outlet for their voices to be heard. As loud as they
may yell we have yet to see definitive proof of their claims. As much as
they point their fingers, they never seem to be pointing in  the right
direction. But yet we are hungry for more. Hungry for any shred of
evidence, wether it be manufactured (alien autopsy) or misrepresentational
to say to the powers that be,"We knew you were covering up, we knew you
couldn't be trusted.."
