Mr. Campbell,

I wrote you late last fall about procurement/DFAS and finding out "what"
is bought for Area 51. I no longer work for the Army, but reading the
post from May 9, concerning Area 51 being beyond our wildest
imagination, I noticed a comment in there that raised some questions in
my mind. It stated a "clearance of GS 15". Now maybe I am reading it or
misunderstanding it, but GS 15 refers to the level of seniority. I was a
GS 9 step 4 in the 2010 Job Series. The GS didn't have anything to do
with security clearance level, at least in the military. Now maybe it
was different with the contractor, but I doubt that there would be two
separate systems for granting security clearances. I have some doubts
about the credibility of the story, especially since in that paragraph
his wife's security clearance level lent credibility to the man who had
been to Area 51. I could be wrong, but it seems a bit lacking (maybe it
is the editing that leaves me shaking my head as to the security
clearance issue) BTW the 2010 Job Series is Inventory Management series.
