From: Tom Farmer Date: Wed, 25 Jun 1997 13:28:02 +0000 Subject: Alleged CNN Phoenix Show a Hoax |
With regard to the allegedly cancelled CNN telecast from Phoenix, I can assure you CNN does not do two-hour, format-breaking, prime-time, remote-originating specials. Nor do CNN editorial personnel take orders from company attorneys. Nor have I ever known any CNN editorial person to even consider withholding news in order to "protect the public." Nor, were proof of an "Ultimate Secret" kicking around HQ in Atlanta, could it possibly be managed/censored/covered up. Things are that loose there. Nor is there anybody named Miriam Szapiro hosting on-air shows at CNN. I speak as an eight-year employee of CNN and the former executive producer of Larry King Live. You've been had. / Tom
