(AFNS) -- The 93rd Air Control Wing is participating in its first exercise supporting the U.S. Army's Advanced Warfighting Experiment March 23-29, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Called Spring Thunder, the exercise involves the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System generating combat support sorties as part of an Air Expeditionary Force. The 93rd ACW is sending 140 people and one E-8C aircraft. Joint STARS will provide battle management data for a brigade combat team in the Army's National Training Center. The wing will also practice its go-to- war plan while continuing to work on the unit's initial operational capability status. The 93rd ACW stood up Jan. 29, 1996.
