From: Ken MacGrayDate: Tue, 18 Mar 97 07:00:30 -0500 Subject: The Morals of Marches (From a.c.a51... -Ken) ======================== From: z9c10@aol.com (Z9c10) Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy.area51 Subject: Area 51...death to a bad thread Date: 16 Mar 1997 20:22:01 GMT I've been keeping up with this net opera about how a bunch of folks are going to 'March on Area 51' in the name of Freedom of information. It seems like a valiant move to make the US government to open up. But there are just a few (heh) things. First off, NO ONE has the right to know secrets the government wants to keep. If you were a baby killer and didn't want anyone to know, would YOU tell YOUR neighbors 'Hey, I just whacked the Johnson jid this morning, want some stew?' HELL NO, you'd be finding new places to hide bodies after the back yard and basment got full. And when the cops DID finally catch on, you'd start shooting because 'I WON'T BE TAKEN ALIVE!!!" (the battle cry of every trapped person). The Government is the same way. They hide these things because they don't want us to know for their own reasons. Like when the Iowa blew up a few years ago, they blamed it on a gay love affair gone bad, dragging the gunners mate through the mud. All because they didn't want it to be known that someone BIG fucked up. Another brilliant instance that still weights heavy on my mind...The Challenger Accident. 10 years ago we were on our way to commercial space use with the launch of the first civilian. Reagan was going to use it as a rallying point for his TV speech. Morton Thiakol was warned something bad was going to happen. NASA knew it, so did Reagan. It was ignored as doom-saying so the President could have something useful to say (like the posed crack deal in front of the White House to get Bush some rock for his anti drug speech). It backfired, the people who warned the agencies what was going to happened were fired. And it was all brought down to faulty rubber rings in the cold Florida wind. The sacrfice the astonauts made (anyone even remember Scobee, McNair, Onizuka, Resnik or the others?) has been lost because they gave their life for no reason but publicity. Now you want to tell me that Military Officers would not besmirch their Honor OR Duty and open fire on Americans. You sir, have obviously had very little contact with any officer. All the ones I've met, from a Base Commander down to the youngest 2nd Looey consider it their sworn duty to follow their orders to the best of their ability, even if it means the death of Americans. I've been on the bad end of an MP raid. I saw a good friend dragged out of bed BODILY because the pain killers he was on didn't allow him to wake up and respond to their orders. The guns were real, the bullets in the guns were real and if ANY of us had offered ANY resistance, there would have been a LOT of dead kids and adults on that trip. We were lucky, we were smart and did as we were told. So were the MP's who DARED not to question an overzealous Lt. beacuse it is NOT THEIR DUTY TO QUESTION AN ORDER. Now, because of that debacle, the Lt was sent out to the boonies for a patrol and at last hearing was getting out on a dishonorable beacuse he FAILED TO FOLLOW PROCEDURE. Neither you, me, anyone from a foreign nation, or any unauthorized personell have the right to cross that line. You don't have a right to know what's in a secret military test facility. You don't have the clearence. You don't have the authority, you simply don't have that right. Freedom of Speech is NOT extended to the nation...only the press. You can say what you want, you can gather peacefully, but you cannot simply walk 1000 yards onto a secret base because you feel you have the right to know something the government doesn't want you to know. I hoped this brings an end to this discussion. Southern by Birth, American by the Grace of the Gods, Patriot By Duty. Nick Incidentally, the aforementioned MP Raid in November 1994 at Fort Hood Texas should be a matter of public domain.
