From: campbell@ufomind.com (Glenn Campbell, Las Vegas) Date: Wed, 19 Mar 1997 09:14:24 -0800 Subject: Area 51 "People's March" Update [From GroomWatch@aol.com (Norio Hayakawa) via John Schafer.] This is to inform you that the name of the event heretofore being controversially announced world-wide as "A Thousand-Man March Into AREA 51 in 1998", has been changed to "The People's March at AREA 51 in 1998". The date and the location of the event is still the same --- It is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. on June 6, 1998 (easy to remember: 6-6-6). The place will be at the public land side at the restricted boundary line on Groom Lake Road......as easy as that. As announced previously, even though the event is still 14 months away, inquiries are coming from places as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Canada and increasingly, from Great Britain. Small articles on the scheduled event seems to have been written up in a few magazines already. Official notices regarding the event will be mailed to the Public Affairs Office at Nellis Air Force Base by the end of this year. Notices will also be mailed to the Lincoln County Sheriff Department and Nevada State Highway Patrol, even though it is assumed that they are well aware of the possibility of the event by now. Once again, contrary to the ludicrous paranoia created in the newsgroups regarding the event, the spontaneous event will not be a rabble-rousing, anti-government rally. A thousand men are not going to march past the warning signs and provoke bloody confrontation with the security personnel. There will be no violence whatsoever. Besides, almost all of the sensitive operations within the facility will be shut down on that day, if Nellis AFB, E.G & G. and Lockheed, etc. feel just prior to the event that several hundred or more will actually be there. (They WILL have a way to determine the approximate number of participants just a few days prior to the event). The event will simply bring to the attention of the newsmedia many realistic agendas, one of which is the plight of several workers at Groom Lake who have been exposed to highly toxic material at the facility. To be part of the event, all one has to do is just be there. Hopefully, there will be at least 400 to 500 people at the event, in which case several major newsmedia, no doubt, will cover the event, including CNN. Inquiries can be addressed to: CIVINT OPS P.O.
