Date: Mon, 24 Mar 1997 00:46:31 GMT I just finished watching the TLC special on Area-51. This one guy claims that the USAF is "BACK-ENGINEERING" (The correct term is Reverse-Engineering) downed Alien ships. If this is the case and they have created such things, then what is the point of NASA. Why would the government continue to spend billions of dollars for NASA to do this 20th Century crap when they have better technology in Nevada? This is what I don't get. If the technology they are back-engineering is from an alien spacecraft, then it is safe to assume that these space-craft are able to fly in space. Yet the testing that is apparently going on is for air based crafts. I think the public is somewhat overly hung-up on the alien theory and does not want to believe that Area-51 is just a place where the government tests out & develops new aircraft technology. We all know that the Stealth was a product of this. It all comes back to the same theory, that humans could not have come up with these technologies... which I don't believe. Humans are pretty smart. Label me a skeptic if you wish. I'm planning a trip out to Area 51 this summer. I want to see what I've been reading about.
