There is always a need for people to create their own website on one _specific_ topic in ufology or whatever other field interests them and then do the job _well_, collecting all the information relevant to that limited topic without imposing their own opinions on it. I rate this as more important at this point than collecting data in the field. Websites are fairly simple to create. You need to learn HTML (which is easy) and then find a stable place to store your files. AOL, Compuserve, etc., offer primitive web spaces to their users that are fine to experiment with, but you will outgrow them. (My own web provider is pair - http://www.pair.com - which has a minimum plan at $5/month for 5mg.) There are always too many generalists in the world, not enough specialists doing one thing well.
