I appreciate stevek's Sean Morton report. The Art Bell show is a rich goldmine of personality data, but of the thousands who listen, no one seems to take notes. We may hear some debate on the newsgroups about last night's Art Bell, but no one takes the basic step of reporting what was said. I encourage listeners to do that same for any other radio programs. These shows contain a lot of empty speculation, but there are also some specific claims -- about future events, about a person's credentials and about each guest's specific beliefs. These declarations can and should be held against them if they turn out to be wrong, and recording them helps us at least understand this person. The trouble with radio is that unless you are willing to listen to a hour after hour of audio, the data is inaccessible and unsearchable. The same is not true of text, which is easy to access on-line. That is why it is important write notes about radio shows and put them on the net. Even if the notes are crude and incomplete, they at least point us to the right programs to listen to for more info. If you have any notes on Art Bell or other radio shows, send them to the mailing list or to me, and I will find a place for them. Moderator
