This is a rather straightforward book that focuses on one specific UFO occurrence. That is, the sighting of groups or clusters of UFOs. The bulk of the book is a collection of over 400 reports, spanning a wide range of time. Each report is accompanied by a brief analysis, pointing out important aspects of the sighting, and also includes the source of the report. It's a good reference book to add to any UFO library. Haines is a very conservative researcher, not prone to leaps of logic, and most readers will be quite appreciative of his restrained manner. About the only negative thing to be said about the book is its insistence on using the term "UFO" for both singular and plural sightings. To us, 1 UFO + 1 UFO = 2 UFOs. -- tm

Project Delta-A Study of Multiple UFO is a book about the ever mysterious subject of unidentified flying objects (UFO). But it was not written to try to convince you of anything, only to present the facts for your consideration. It deals with those reports describing two or more objects seen at the same time and place and it raises some challenging questions, questions which deserve to be answered by people qualified in such fields as aeronautical engineering, atmospheric physics, propulsion technology, communications- navigation-guidance, and related sciences. The over 400 separate sightings reviewed here span more than two thousand years and a host of cultures and continents. Overall witness reliability is high and there are a number of radar contact cases and photographs of multiple aerial objects which do not look at all like conventional airplanes. It is fairly clear that whatever their origins(s), these aerial objects can perform aerodynamic feats well beyond what man is able to achieve to date. You are challenged to consider these data seriously and to come to your own conclusions.

About the Author

Richard F. Haines has studied the UFO evidence for almost thirty years and has published numerous serious books on the subject. His academic background is in experimental psychology/physiology (Ph.D. from Michigan State University) with subsequent research (1967-1988) for NASA in both aeronautical and astronautical areas. He is cited in Who's Who in America, Jane's Who's Who in Aviation and Aerospace, American Men & Women of Science, and others. Recently he said, "I think that the serious study of anomalous aerial phenomena is important for our nation. It teaches us some valuable lessons about our selves as well as about others. I urge you to spend some quality time considering the case presented here.
