Budd Hopkins' follow-up to his earlier bestseller Missing Time offers a startling thesis: Not only are aliens abducting our citizens; they are using them in breeding projects. These days, it has become a cliché: Aliens want us for our eggs and sperm, like cosmic rapists. This book was the first widely circulated work to make these claims, and it is up to the reader to decide who is the most sinister force: Is it the aliens who are doing the implanting, or has the book itself implanted the idea in public consciousness that these events are taking place? As with all the other abduction literature, you can take it either as fact or fiction, but there is no doubt that the social phenomenon is real, and this book is at the center of it. If you've finished Missing Time and are still hungry for more, you'll need to read Intruders. -- Glenn Campbell

The most important abduction event in this long, bizarre history took place during a dark summer night in 1983, in an ordinary rural area outside Indianapolis. It began when Kathie Davis was floated out of her room as she slept, then subjected to a physical examination inside a UFO.
Yet the ultimate meaning of that experience only came to light months later when Kathie recalled - under hypnosis, with solid corroboration by specialists and by hundreds of other victims all over the country - details of what followed the examination: a profound confrontation, simultaneously as human and as unearthly as one can conceive....
"One comes to a tender regard for Hopkin's subjects. Their uniform similarities of description of their UFO abductions and of the aliens bear a faithful fact that could sway many an ironclad skeptic." ... The Kirkus Reviews

"INTRUDERS is . . . the kind of thing that, if you think about it for a while late at night, brings back those creepie-crawly feelings you got when you were a kid and watched your first horror movie. Except that maybe this time it's somebody else out there who's doing the watching." ... San Francisco Chronicle
"A moving and disturbing account of ordinary human beings fighting to maintain sanity and dignity under almost unimaginable circumstances." ... Fate
