Bargain 5 Very High Explanation of Ratings Credibility = Very High: In general, this catagory is a rating of the author's intellectual discipline and the strength of his argument (which are very high), not the veracity of his claims (which could be false in spite of the strong argument). Research Value = Very High: It is important to buy and read this manual before you visit. Visual Information = Very High: Excellent maps and photos.

This is definitely the best guide to the "Garden Island" of Hawaii. It is the one that we used on our vacation there in October 1998. (Although we bought other guides, we didn't need them.) It has all the practical information you need on almost anything a tourist might be interested in, told with an insiders savvy. Especially handy for the budget traveller. Excellent maps and flawless information. (Be sure to see our trip report linked below for annotations.)
