UFO Crash at Aztec: A Well-Kept Secret (new hc) By William Steinman
and Wendelle Stevens .
1986, UFO Photo Archives, 625pp.
(Fine in fine DJ, in original shrink-wrap packaging. Multiple copies. Unnumbered "first edition".)
This book resurrects the Aztec, New Mexico, UFO crash of
1948, which first publicized in "Behind the Flying Saucers" in
the 1950s and then dismissed as a hoax. The authors claim new
information -- and document it in 612 rambling pages. The
book makes the claim that the remains of the craft and 16
deceased alien humans were immediately recovered by a special
military team. In the end the book is neither very persuasive
nor credible, but it is an interesting addition to the body of
crash-retrieval mythology. Buried in this volume is is a lot of
information, some useful, some not. Maps and descriptions give
you enough information to find the alleged crash site yourself.
(We found it, but found nothing remarkable there.) It even
contains what appears to be the first published mention of Area
51 in connection with UFOs. -- TM

UFOphoto1
UFO Photographs from Around the World, Vol. 1 (new hc) By Wendelle Stevens
and August Roberts.
1986, UFO Photo Archives, 255pp.
(Fine in fine DJ)
A collection of 130 UFO photographs (all black-and-white) along with descriptions of
their circumstances and line drawing of the craft seen.
Although the quality of the photos is limited in this B+W format, there is much more
explanation of each photo than you find in other books.
(Other books will show you a glossy color photo but tell you nothing about it was
supposedly taken.)
The photos mostly show hovering disks with distinct features, with
landscape background to judge them by, taken between 1952 and 1978.
They could all be fake for all we know, but the stories that accompany them
are still very interesting. With its report-like typeface and occasional typos,
the book conveys an air of authenticity and earnestness.
