GhostAir
Ghosts of the Air (new trpb) By Martin Caidin .
1996, Galde Press, 268pp.
Martin Caidin, best known as the novelist who created the "Six Million
Dollar Man," has been collecting aerial ghost stories for years. As a
respected pilot and writer, personal accounts have flowed to him from
all parts of the aviation community. This book contains variety of
claims: ghost aircraft, invisible crew members, miraculous salvations
and a few UFOs. Each case is told as a short story, adhering closing
to the subjective experience of each witness. As such, this book is
more an oral history than an active research work. There is no real
attempt to find alternative explanations for each story, and "lack of
oxygen" might be the skeptic's response to most of them. Each story is
vivid to the witnesses, though, and this book captures their
sensations. Highly readable and entertaining. --GC
