 Our Review |
Opinion of the webmaster, subject to debate  |
Although the title gives no clue, this book is a useful
"sampler" of general information on the UFO field, focussing
on places you can go, like Rachel, Roswell and Gulf Breeze.
It has addresses for UFO organizations and summaries
of the main historical cases.
Manual
covers a lot of territory and provides a practical introduction
to the UFO subculture if not UFOs themselves.
Useful as a starting point for studying the people and organizations
who study UFOs.

From the Book Cover
A UFO is the reported sighting of an object or light seen in the sky
or on land, whose appearance, trajectory, actions, motions, lights,
and colors do not have a logical, conventional, or natural explanation,
and which cannot be explained, not only by the original witness, but
by scientists or technical experts who try to make a common sense
identification after examining the evidence.
- J. Allen Hynek, the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS)
ln that sublime moment I knew the mystery of life.
- UFO contactee Orfeo Antalucci, describing his encounter with a flying
saucer.
So now these UFOs are appearing in the skies. Although they have always
been observed they didn't signify anything. Now suddenly they seem
to portend something - a hope, an expectation.
- Carl Gustav Jung, Flying Saucers
