Forms of Payment
We accept payment by Visa,
Mastercard, Discover Card/Novus
and (grudgingly) American Express/Optima.
We also accept personal checks and money orders
for orders sent to us by mail.
(See our Check Acceptance Policies.)
Cash is accepted by mail at sender's risk.
For overseas orders, we accept the above credit cards or
a check drawn on a U.S. bank (available from most
foreign banks). We do not accept Eurochecks
or any check that does not bear US bank routing numbers
at the bottom.
Requirements for On-Line Orders
To order from us on-line,
you will be asked to provide the following...
- Your full name, as it appears on your credit card.
- Your credit card number.
- The name of the bank that issued the card.
- The billing address for the credit card.
- Your shipping address if different from the billing address.
- A daytime phone number we can reach you at.
- A valid email address we can reach you at.
We may request confirmation of the order,
and we may cancel your order if your phone or
email address is not valid.
Please note: It is a felony to knowingly use a false
or stolen credit card number in an on-line order.
We will report suspected improprieties to our
merchant service bureau.
Postage
For your information,
here is our Postage Chart,
based on the number of standard "books" you order. (Heavier books
count as more than one, while some light items count as
"half a book".)
For USA/Canada/Mexico orders, postage is calculated automatically
in the shopping cart.
We ship most USA orders by Priority Mail, which we find to
be the fastest and most efficient method for small packages
(usually beating UPS).
Your purchase will probably arrive within 2-3 days of your order.
The postage calculated in your shopping cart
is accurate for most small orders, but we reserve the
right to modify the postage charge for large orders.
(We usually charge actual postage costs plus $1.)
We also offer
lower-cost fourth class book rate postage.
(You can indicate this preference in your on-line
order.)
International Orders
We happily accept orders from anywhere in the world.
We ship most orders by small-packet airmail, which usually takes
1-2 weeks.
For overseas destinations,
airmail postage generally adds about 50% to the total cost of the
order.
We also offer surface mail for heavier orders. This is about
half the cost of airmail, but shipping takes 1-3 months
(1-2 months to Europe and Latin America; 2-3 months to
the Far East and Australia.)
For Canada and Mexico,
airmail postage is usually about $1-$2 more than the
USA Priority Mail and is calculated automatically
in the shopping cart.
Service Standards
Most order for in-stock items
are sent out by us on the same day
we receive your order (if received by us by 5pm Pacific Time/8pm
Eastern).
Occasionally, orders may be delayed 1-3 days.
If your order is delayed for longer than 3 days (usually
because an item is temporarily out of stock)
we will usually inform you of the delay by email.

Mailing Lists and Confidentiality
Your name, mailing address, email address and
phone number will be used only to process your
order and not be released to any outside
