Explanation of Ratings
Credibility = Very Low: In general, this catagory is a rating of the author's intellectual discipline
and the strength of his argument (which are very low), not the veracity of his claims (which could be true in spite of the weak argument).
Style = Stylish: Easy & fun to read if you are in the mood for silliness.
Silliness = Very High: High silliness isn't necessarily a bad thing. Such items often make
amusing gifts or may be interesting as cultural artifacts.

It is like George Adamski never really died but was reincarnated
in the body of Phillip Krapf, a former editor for the
Los Angeles Times.
In the early morning hours of June 11, 1997, Kraph says he was
abducted by pointy-eared aliens called the Verdants.
They took him aboard their vessel and subjected him to
unspeakable torture: meeting after meeting with
ambassadors and functionaries from the Intergalactic Federation of
Sovereign Planets (IFSP).
Kraph spent three days with the visitors, being briefed on the
state of the universe, the savage nature of
humanity, etc.
The aliens are already in the process of recruiting "ambassadors"
among earth's elite (including one
planted at the current LA Times),
and by the year 2002 these representatives will start revealing
themselves. By 2003, we'll all know the score, as
our planet is peacefully inducted into the IFSP....
But do we really want to join?
The book gave us the impression that the visitors are mired in
bureaucracy. The Federation is composed of
committees, sub-committees,
ambassadors and deputies, who can't seem to do anything
without first conducting a study.
Given the problems of intergalactic administration described herein,
we wouldn't be surprised if that 2003 deadline is pushed back
by a century or two.
-- Glenn Campbell
Reservations
As expected,
the author offers not one scrap of corroborating evidence for
his claims. Even his wife was away at the
time of the supposed abduction, so cannot verify it.
More importantly, no comparision is attempted between this
experience and that of other abductees -- probably the only
useful method for approaching such claims. (If two
people who have had no contact with each other report the
same abduction details, that coincidence
is something we can investigate. Krapf's experiences
don't seem to coincide with the other well-known abduction
reports.)
The marketing of this book depends on the author being a
former LA Times journalist, but none of the rules of
journalism are applied here.
Still, the book is easy and fun to read if you happen to be
in the mood for silliness.
Comparison to Other Books
This book reminds us of Philip Corso's
Day After Roswell.
An old guy tells a fantastic tale that would never have been heard
if not for the author's apparently disguished background.

From the Book Cover
"I awoke with a start and found the bedroom bathed in a
bluish, iridescent light. At first, I thought that I had fallen
asleep with the TV on, but the screen was dark. The lighted dial on
the bedside digital clock radio read 2:32 a.m. It was Wednesday,
June 11, 1997..."
And so began the most astounding journey that former
Los Angeles Times journalist Phillip H. Krapf had ever
embarked on in the 62 years of his life. In those early-morning hours,
Krapf found himself whisked aboard an alien spaceship where he spent
the next three days being peacefully indoctrinated into a fascinating
new world by extraterrestrials called "Verdants."
What he learned there was that these alien beings, who have been
observing the Earth for 1,000 years have decided that the time has
come for mankind to be invited into the Intergalactic Federation of
Sovereign Planets. Hundreds of prominent world citizens have been, and
are still being, recruited to serve as emissaries to help smooth the
way for the eventual extraterrestrial-terrestrial contact that is
planned to occur by the end of the first decade of the 21st
century.
This is the story of one person's recruitment to serve as the
official chronicler of the coming event.
