| Pohnpei Island is best known for its remarkable ruins of Nan Madol,
where huge basalt columnshave ben stacked like logs to form artificial
islands and stone temples.
Since the island was under U.S. control following WWII, it has been mapped in detail by the USGS.The island is covered by two huge maps, one for the south, where Nan Madol is located, and one for the more populated north.These maps would be helful if you are thinking of visiting theisland or justwant to know where the ruins are located. The scale of both maps is 1:25,000, and the size of each is 4x6 feet. Because these maps are so big, we charge 50-cents more than usual to cover handling. The date of both maps is 1980. | |||
