An encyclopedic treatment of all sorts of unexplained phenomena. Like Clark's UFO Book, this is a real encyclopedia with extensive references. There is a lot overlap between the two books regarding UFOs (perhaps 50%), but Unexplained also covers fortean topics such the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, Alligators in Sewers and assorted mystery appearances and disappearances. Clark brings professional research skills to topics that are way out there, and he maintains his neutrality and academic distance. He doesn't say "This is real"; he simply describes what the reports are and where they are recorded. The UFO Book should be your first purchase, but Unexplained! is a worthy supplement. Given the low price and density of data, it is certainly worth the cost. -- Glenn Campbell
