Regarding "1970s UFO Sightings" - Latest First

UFO sighted at NAS Moffet Field (Mountainview,Calif.) On May 30th 1978,I was just outside the maingate waiting for a ride,when I saw a UFO. A marine at the maingate said hey look at that! I looked over to where he was and saw that he was looking at the UFO too! I then looked back at the UFO as it curved around heading away from me and seemed to fade/disappear. -- Bill (nwrbdr@gateway.com ) 8/17/99 (#4)

UFO sighting in South West Wales UK in 1970s Anybody got any info on the above - The general area was known as the BroadHaven triangle, because there were so many apparent sighting. Some of which seem to have been very strange! -- John McHugh (j.mchugh@zen.co.uk ) 7/22/99 (#3)

Mid-70s Sighting Over Long Island I grew up in the town of Glen Head on Long Island, New York. My sister and I saw a UFO as children. I believe she was ten and I was nine at the time so it was perhaps 1974. It had a greenish glow, upside-down pie tin shape shape with windows. It hovered close over the treetops for a few seconds, and was gone in lightning speed. I am trying to find out if anyone else spotted a UFO in the early evening sky over the North Shore of Long Island around this time frame. -- K. Moore (kmoore@commonwealth.com ) 5/14/99 (#2)

UFO Siting over Seneca Lake, NY In the late '70's, I was driving near Seneca Lake in Central NY with a friend. We saw a huge saucer shaped object hovering very close, we pulled over to observe, as did other cars . It had colored lights flashing all around the perimeter. It hovered and then shot away very quickly, directly south over the lake (from Geneva on the north end of the lake where we were). Found out later many people had reported it to the Geneva police; it was nothing like I had ever seen before, and have not seen since. We weren't scared, this was on a fairly busy highway, just absolutely fascinated. It changed my whole outlook on UFOS - made a believer out of me! -- Barb 11/25/97 (#1)
